About The Holy Oaks
History of The Holy Oaks, Duntroon
The Holy Oaks is so named to acknowledge the pretty St Magnus Church on the site (decommissioned in 2010) and also the magnificent protected oak trees that were planted to commemorate particular timelines.
St Magnus Church was built in 1897 and named after the cathedral in the Orkney Islands where many of the settlers in the area hailed from.
The hall was added to the property at a later date and has seen life as a a church hall, Sunday school, Playgroup and has since been renovated to provide comfortable accommodation.
